These two families became very intertwined following the Civil War. The two husbands of Rosetta Coon were both enlisted on the Yankee side of the conflict … Lorenzo Hodges in a Pennsylvania infantry
company and Benjamin Delmage in a New York infantry company. Lorenzo Hodges died on July 16, 1863 of a wound he received at Gettysburg.
The following photograph shows Lorenzo Hodges (left) and his brother Julius in their Bucktail Regiment uniforms. Lorenzo is buried in Sec. C, Grave 38, Penn. Lot, Gettysburg. Julius survived the war and spent most of the rest of his life on the old Hodges homestead on Annin Creek in Pennsylvania near the New York state line.
The following chart attempts to sort the convoluted relationships of these two families.
