The earliest individuals for whom we have been able to find data are Patrick Deasy (Ireland), a son, Michael Deasy (County Cork, Ireland 1845) and an older cousin of the son, also Michael Deasy (County Cork, Ireland 1834).  We have not been able to trace their origins back to Ireland. Old stories indicate that they lived in County Cork before immigrating to the U.S.A.  They came over during the period of the potato famine.  According to a biography given by a grandson of Patrick Deasy, John Deasy, Patrick and his son Michael both went to seek gold in California during the gold rush era.  Michael returned to Nevada and started the Deasy clan branch that is documented here. At this time there is no further information concerning what happened to Patrick, the known patriarch of our branch.  The John Deasy biographical piece was published on the web by the Ilo-Vollmer Historical Society.  The index of biographies includes those for individuals of many of the earliest families who settled and lived in Idaho County, Idaho.

The Michael Deasy pictured below is also a grandson of Patrick Deasy mentioned above.

A copy of John Deasy’s biography has been included here.
